Disney Hollywood Studios





Disney Hollywood Studios is a TV and movie studio themed park. Though it may not have the name recognition of Magic Kingdom or Epcot, it easily provides a full day of rides, shows, and activities for guests of all ages, except small children. Disney-MGM Studios once actually produced film and TV production and was once known as Disney-MGM Studios. Disney changed its name because "Disney's Hollywood Studios" to emphasize its focus on major United States movie makers. Highlights of Disney Hollywood Studios are the Tower of Terror, the Great Movie Ride, and Star Tours.


INSIDER TIPS:

At The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, guests enter a creepy Hollywood Tower Hotel, and are warned about mysterious occurrences there. Guests enter the elevator where ghostly images of lost guests appear and disappear. Then-surprise-the cables 'snap' and the elevator plunges 13 stories down the shaft, falling faster than the force of gravity. Then the elevator lurches and falls again and again until the terrifying finale. A computer programs the series of lurches and show elements each ride is different. Ride it again and again for a different thrilling experience!

On The Great Movie Ride, guests enter through a meticulous reproduction of the world-famous Mann's Chinese Theater. Then they board open cars and ride through re-creations of classic movie scenes and realistic Audio-Animatronic legends of the silver-screen.

Star Tours, inspired by Star Wars, is a thrilling rocket journey to Endor. You experience several near-misses as your rocket simulator zooms past comets, and asteroids. It dodges Imperial fighters and then swoops down into the Death Star trench to fight the big finale.

This is a turbulent ride, and those guests with motion sickness problems should avoid it. Use Fastpass.
